back to normal.

After two weeks of illness and one week of getting better/hosting/installation/exhibition opening, I am finally back to normal!  Phew!

The exhibition was a huge success and we had a going away dinner for the amazing Brody on Sunday at Lucques.  As much as I wanted to photograph the entire meal, I had to restrain myself (since it was a work function) in between bites of blood orange salad, lamb with roasted dates, couscous and tamarind spiced citrus, chocolate torta with candied kumquats and pistachio gelato.  All was washed down with my 2nd drink in three weeks - champagne....

Other than Lucques dinner and art openings (Thursday, Friday & Saturday!) - things were pretty routine.  Transitions between errands, grocery shopping, laundry and yoga left little time for actual cooking other than a couple light lunches....

M treated us to adorable mini pies that I had with coffee Sunday morning....
...eaten while watching movies and reading in bed....
...pre-Lucques snack of kale chips (incredible - recipe below) and orange sparkling
water with orange segments and a sprig of rosemary....
...a get well plant from my parents....
kale chips.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.  Rinse and dry kale.  Cut into 2 inch pieces and arrange in single layer on a baking sheet.  Toss with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.  Cook about 8 minutes but be sure to check as once the leaves turn very brown, they turn bitter.  Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl immediately.

  1. Such a cute mini pie. So glad you're finally feeling better! That's so long to be sick.
