Finally getting around to continuing what I started here! Since I had some pork with a dijon mustard rub (dijon, olive oil, herbes de provence, salt & pepper), it seemed perfect for French inspired green beans.
Base Recipe
Handful of trimmed green beans first partially steamed in the microwave (or stovetop but I don't like to wash that many pans). Then follow recipe below. Note: The pre-steaming just cooks them a lot faster. French Inspired Green Beans.
Handful of green beans
1 garlic clove (a small one)
Zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
Sprinkle herbes de provence
Sprinkle herbes de provence
Chopped walnuts
Salt and pepper to taste
Heat olive oil in a skillet while green beans steam. Add garlic and saute until fragrant. Add green beans, lemon juice and lemon zest, salt and pepper. Saute until the flavors combine, about 3-5 minutes. Top with chopped walnuts to serve.
