greek grill.

My parents came over for dinner the other night and we decided to do a Greek grill to get us ready for summer.  My mom and I saw Laura Calder's French Food at Home grill episode and two of the dishes came straight from that.  Not exactly French but delicious!  Olive and feta nibbles to start, a big Greek salad, potato salad and lamb steaks to finish - all with a fantastic California wine.
The Greek salad and potato salad recipes can be found here and  here.
greek lamb steaks.
note: this recipe is for three people
lamb steaks, bone in
2-3 garlic cloves
zest of one lemon
2 rosemary sprigs (about 4-5 inches long)
drizzle olive oil
salt and pepper to taste

Start charcoal for grill (takes about 15 minutes for me).  Pick fresh rosemary, finely chop.  Mince garlic and zest lemon.  Add to a small bowl and drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and freshly ground pepper.  When charcoal is ready, spread rub on lamb steaks.  Add to grill and cook about 3-4 minutes per side.  Rest for 5 minutes and serve.
Suggested wine pairing: Bridlewood Blend 175 (syrah, cabernet savignon, zinfandel blend)
